Assignment 1: Explore Spreadsheet Basics

( Four Periods ) Each 40 minutes 

• Open Microsoft Excel.
• Discuss the parts of the program window including the File tab, Quick Access Toolbar, Ribbon, title bar, help, tab, name box, formula bar, group, command, sheet tab, and scroll bars.
• Explain basic spreadsheet skills including working with columns, rows and cells, how to enter text, and different ways of moving from cell to cell.
• Format a cell by changing the fill color, adding a border, aligning the content, and formatting the content.
• Select multiple cells.
• Close Microsoft Excel. 

Assignment 2: Set Up Game Worksheets

• What is "You Found My X-Cell"?
• Open Microsoft Excel.
• Set up the game card by renaming the worksheet, adding borders, placing targets, and changing the formatting.
• Set up the guess card by renaming the worksheet and adding borders.
• Delete a worksheet.

Assignment 3: Play "You Found My X-Cell"

• Pair up and play the game "You Found My X-Cell".
